Registration for the Nordic-Baltic Diatomists’ Meeting 2026 is now open! The meeting will be held on June 8–12, 2026, at Oulanka Research Station, Finland.

Registration is open until March 31, 2026.
The program will include scientific presentations by participants, a taxonomic workshop by Prof. Bart van de Vijver (Meise Botanic Garden, Belgium) focusing on the genera Punctastriata, Pseudostaurosiropsis, Distrionella, Stauroforma and Fragilariforma, an inspiring keynote talk by Dr. Maria Kahlert (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) about Benthic diatoms for freshwater monitoring – metabarcoding and microscope data compared, a field trip to Lake Julma-Ölkky, and much more. We encourage colleagues from all fields of diatom research to present their work. Abstract submission is open until April 15, 2026. Abstract template is available here.
